Chiropractor Robyn Graley and counsellor Jodie Fincham came together in May 2021 in a partnership that is flourishing.
After meeting through a mutual connection, Ms Fincham opened up her practice in Dr Graley’s rooms and Health Connections Seymour was launched. The two share a similar philosophy with a focus on healing and holistic approaches.
Dr Graley, who ran a chiropractic clinic in Melbourne for more than 20 years, is thrilled that she made the decision to open in Seymour.
“People are much more interested in each other and they’re more connected ,” she said.
“Because of that, people are more caring because people are more likely to know each other.”
Walking into the light-filled rooms, there is a palpable sense of calm. For Ms Fincham, it’s an aspect of being part of the team that she loves.
“I have some highly anxious clients and their first time sometimes to counselling can be quite stressful for people,” she said.
“And their first statement is, ‘oh it's so nice and relaxed, it feels so welcoming’, and that just assists them to settle into a session with me.
“It's the sort of space and the type of practice when I was studying at uni that I always envisioned I would be in.”
Dr Graley would like the rooms to be used by more health practitioners.
“What we want to do is provide alternative and natural health,” Dr Graley said.
“We’ve got the mind and the body looked after, but we could do more in that total space and that’s very exciting.”
Dr Graley is particularly interested in exploring partnerships with massage therapists, hypnotherapists, podiatrists, psychologists, dieticians and those practicing Chinese therapy.
She is hopeful the expansion of Health Connections Seymour can improve access to health services in the district.
Health Connections Seymour is at 122 Anzac Ave, Seymour. Practitioners who would like to use the rooms are invited to phone Dr Graley on 0432 011 189.
