Elmore and Goornong residents are being urged to make suggestions of where street improvements could be potentially undertaken to help make walking and cycling safer, more comfortable and convenient across Greater Bendigo.
Greater Bendigo City Council active and healthy communities manager Amy Johnston said the local knowledge of residents would help identify streets, routes and destinations that could be considered as priorities for potential future improvements.
“This project will build on previous feedback gathered by the city about walking and cycling in 2018, 2024 and 2025 by checking whether past feedback is still current,” she said.
“This process will help develop a shortlist of priority locations for further investigation and design.”
In the next stage of the project the council will share a list of priority locations and the community will be invited to comment on whether the locations are suitable and if the proposed changes could improve safety and comfort. Nearby residents will also be able to explain how local access may be affected.
Residents can take part by visiting the Let’s Talk community engagement website at tinyurl.com/2yuy7wsu where they can add a pin to the various maps and tell the council about their experiences until Monday, September 21.
