For the past two days, I have been doing different things, including taking photos of the new street art.
I’ve done a variety of things in my two days at the Ensign, such as walking around town, taking photos of all the new street art from different angles, and getting the names of these talented artists.
When I came back to the office, we uploaded my photos to the Benalla Ensign Facebook page.
Editor Simon Ruppert then sent me out to do another task, which was to take stock photos of major buildings such as the Benalla council, the police station, the art gallery and the library.
I was also given the task of creating an article from the Ensign archives
We picked out the year 1994, and I had a flick through and chose an article from September on Winton Motor Raceway where the Australian Truck Racing Championship was taking place.
On Thursday morning, Simon and I went for a walk down the main street to take photos of CFA volunteers collecting for the Good Friday Appeal.
My next task was to head down to the art gallery to have a look and take photos of Sofels’ artwork.
I then had another photography task, which was going back around to capture as many finished street art murals as I could, as Simon needed a photo gallery to go into the Ensign on Wednesday.
Overall, I had an amazing experience at the Benalla Ensign. I have always loved taking photos, often using my sister’s camera on road trips, to the local footy games and especially down at Phillip Island for the Australian MotoGP every year.
So, to finally do it as work experience has been unreal, and I am keen to pursue it.
Many thanks again to Annette from NE Tracks LLEN, Benalla Ensign, and Simon for this opportunity.
