This unique event gave local Guides and Scouts the chance to connect across borders, cultures, and time zones — all from the comfort of the Girl Guides Hall during a special sleepover.
JOTI is open to Guides of all ages, offering a safe and inclusive digital space to foster international friendships, cultural exchange and leadership.
Through the D-Star Digital Voice internet gateway, participants engaged in real-time conversations with Guides from diverse backgrounds, learning first-hand how young women everywhere are working together to shape a more peaceful and united world.
Throughout the night, the girls explored exciting new skills:
Communicating with Morse code
Building and using a light-based messaging system
Decoding ‘secret’ messages
Learning Auslan (Australian Sign Language)
The experience was more than just fun — it was a powerful reminder of the strength of global sisterhood and the importance of understanding and collaboration.
As the girls chatted late into the night, they weren’t just making friends — they were building bridges.
