Secrets of Grant Success is a free, practical program designed to build confidence and skills in preparing successful grant applications.
Provided by grant specialists, the workshop covers the framework they uses when applying for grants.
Each session is tailored to the needs of participants and explores the grant basics, planning supporting documents, gathering evidence and developing clear, effective writing skills.
It also teaches participants the simple techniques and tools groups can use to plan and prepare future applications.
Anyone who missed out on a community grant in the past is encouraged to participate.
The workshop is set to strengthen attendees’ understanding of what makes a strong application, and council said it could help improve applicants’ chances in future funding rounds.
“We know how much time and effort goes into applying for grants,” Mayor Bernie Hearn said.
“Secrets of Grant Success gives people the tools and confidence they need to put forward strong, competitive applications.
“Whether you’re applying for the first time or looking to sharpen your approach, this workshop will help you feel more prepared and supported.”
The Secrets of Grant Success will be held on Thursday, July 16, between 9.30am and noon, at Benalla Lakeside Community Centre, via Arundel St, Benalla.
Participants will get a hard-copy workbook of their notes, along with practical tools to help plan and create their next application.
Anyone interested in applying for a grant is also encouraged to explore the Benalla Funding Finder, an online portal, on council’s website that connects users to more than 1400 funding opportunities.
The site provides a comprehensive list of grants available locally and nationally, helping people identify programs that best match their needs.
