Along with Jabba the Bus it will deliver COVID-19 vaccinations to the GV Health Local Public Health Unit area which includes Benalla .
They will also visit Greater Shepparton, Moira Shire, Strathbogie Shire, Mitchell Shire, Mansfield Shire, Murrindindi Shire and Campaspe Shire (Kyabram and surrounds).
The aim of the buses is to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to as many communities and their eligible populations as close to home as possible.
The second vaccination bus was named after GV Health staff and the Greater Shepparton community suggested names and voted via social media.
The second vaccination bus is an exact replica of Jabba the Bus and contains three vaccination pods, in a COVID-safe environment, and is disability-friendly.
GV Health Chief Executive Matt Sharp said Maxine Vaccine would provide Moderna, Pfizer and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines in line with the government’s vaccination guidelines.
“Jabba the Bus has been a resounding success with over 1500 people vaccinated on the bus since its launch in September 2021,” Mr Sharp said.
“We know there are still people in our community who need to be COVID-19 vaccinated so both Jabba the Bus and Maxine Vaccine will help us achieve this.
“We’d like to once again thank Dyson Group Shepparton for their strong support in supplying the buses for this important initiative.”
Roy Dyson, Regional Operations Manager of the Dyson Group of Companies, said the company was extremely pleased to see how successful the implementation of the first vaccination bus has been.
“(We) are very grateful to GV Health for the opportunity to provide a second bus,” Mr Dyson said.
“Our Shepparton team has done a great job in preparing both buses and we are proud to be able to assist our local communities in accessing their COVID-19 vaccinations.”
All people aged 12 years and over are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations.
If you have not been vaccinated yet, look out for Maxine Vaccine coming to a town near you.
