With opening night this Friday, June 21, the cast, band and crew of Benalla Theatre Company’s production of Mystery on the Orient Express are busily rehearsing and fine-tuning the show.
With the theft of pearls belonging to the Countess (Jessica Grant) , a band of detectives and spies work together to solve the crime.
These include Sherlock Holmes (Jim Tullberg) and Dr Watson (Eva Chick), Miss Marples (Debbie Patterson), Garter Hari (Dianne Feldtmann) and Inspector Gadget (Lachlan McNair).
Along the way, many become suspects: a group of senior citizens, the Von Crapp family, some French singers, and even the Pope himself.
This laugh-a-minute theatre restaurant-style show is filled with many great songs to sing along with including Chanson D’Amour, To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before, Happy, That’s Amore, The Lonely Goatherd and The Twist.
There are seven performances over two weekends from June 21-29 at Benalla Town Hall.
The four evening performances are cabaret-style seating, where audiences can BYO drinks and nibbles, while the three matinée performances are traditional theatre seating.
Tickets are available via trybooking.com/eventlist/Benallatheatreco or at the Town Hall every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 11.30am and 2pm or at the box office before each performance.
