Deniliquin equestrian riders Sophie Pearn and Zara O’Donnell have qualified for Australian Championships this September after stellar performances at the PetStock Equestrian Victoria Interschool Championships in Werribee this month.

The duo will compete as part of the Victorian team in Tamworth from September 19 to 23.
Both students of St Michael’s Public School, the girls represented thier school and community with pride at the Werribee event from April 6-10.
Zara and Sophie - and their ponies Kahtia, Sunny, Brock and Zaza - spent months preparing for the championships, logging many hours of training and travel.
Some results from the event are as follows:
Zara on Sunny - second overall in showjumping (60cm).
Zara on Kahtia - fourth overall in showjumping (70cm); third overall on combined training (showjumping and dressage).
Sophie on Brock - second overall in showjumping (45cm).
Sophie on Zaza - fourth overall in show hunter led, rider and ridden class.
