One of the galleries at its Carrier St home houses about 15 pieces made by local artists.
Exhibition curator Jarita Cooper said anyone could put a piece of art in the display, so long as they were a NEA member.
“However, if someone wants to submit something to the exhibition all they need to do is pop into 28b Carrier St and fill out a form. There is no fee,” Ms Cooper said.
Colourful: There are some amazing pieces available at NEA for only $50.
“If their art sells NEA takes a 20 per cent commission, the rest is theirs.”
And even if your artwork does not sell it will still have been on display as part of a gallery exhibition.
“This year we have extended the exhibition to give people more time to take part — or find the perfect Christmas gift,” Ms Cooper said.
“So we are accepting submissions until December 15, and the exhibition will run until Christmas Eve.”
Ms Cooper said people were free to submit any type of art.
“It’s not just paintings,” she said.
“We have some jewellery and digital art, for example.
“One in here at the moment is graphite on paper, and we also have a quilt.”
If you would like to submit some art, or take a look at the exhibition, and maybe find an ideal Christmas, gift get along to NEA at 28b Carrier St before December 24.
