North turns red to honour Daniel

School children all over the country helped to spread an important child safety message in child abduction and murder victim Daniel Morcombe’s name last week.

At Deniliquin North School, students and staff wore red to school for Day for Daniel on Friday.

It is Australia’s largest child safety education event, and benefits the The Daniel Morcombe Foundation started by Daniel’s parents Bruce and Denise to raise such awareness.

Everyone wearing red made a cold coin donation, which resulted in $221.50 being raised for the foundation.

All classes watched age appropriate recordings of Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson, followed by 'red art' lessons in classes.

Being that Friday was also World Teachers’ Day, all the teachers received a red apple at the morning assembly.
