The community of Devenish was disappointed to hear it had just missed out on appearing in the 2021 Silo Art Calendar.

Although when you consider it was the first reserve on the list of all silo art around Australia is still a big achievement.

However, when the calendar team sent images over to its printer they received news that would bump Devenish up one place.

They had sent over images for the 12 months and a front cover, but were informed by the printer there would need to be an even number.

So it transpired that “first reserve” Devenish would make it onto the back cover.

As such the community also received a share of the more than $71,000 in profit the calender generated.

Community committee member June Howard said the town was overjoyed at the news.

“To be fair being number 14 of all the silos in Australia was still absolutely magnificent,” Ms Howard said.

“So to find out we made it into the calender was great. And to have three of the north-east silo art trail photos included is a fantastic achievement for the region.”
