Pony Club president Jack Gall said the Christmas rally was all about getting the kids out on a ride.
“And we got to celebrate the beautiful artwork too,” he said.
“We rode up to Devenish, then back to Goorambat.”

Mr Gall said counting the parents, there would have been 50 people taking part in the ride.
“We went through some private properties, owned by friends, so we were off the road and in the hills at the back of Goorambat.
“The kids loved it, and the parents too.”
Mr Gall said everyone enjoyed getting out of the arenas where there might be an instructor giving orders.
“It’s a bit of fun, and we can ride and enjoy each other’s company ahead of Christmas.”

Mr Gall said the club had also just had its Christmas awards, with six club members being honoured.
“The club person of the year was Issie Hill,” he said.
Mr Gall said the club had a big year ahead.
“We’ve got two or three competitions to keep the kids entertained,” he said.
“We've got a few challenges with the course we're doing for our cross-country course, but we hope to work through that as best we can.

“Our horse trials might get postponed for 12 months, but it’ll certainly be back in action the next year.”
Mr Gall said the pony club was always happy to welcome new members. If you are interested, you can contact it via the Benalla Pony Club page on Facebook.
