The guard was leaving the rodeo arena after his shift on Saturday evening, and told police his car was surrounded by a group of people.
Allegedly intoxicated, members of the group reportedly punched the man’s car and threw alcohol.
By the time the security guard was able to drive away from the group, the passenger side front window had been smashed and there was damage to a rear door.
Police are investigating, and urge anyone with information to contact Deniliquin Police on 5881 9299 or CrimeStoppers on 1300 333 000.
Missing man found well
Deniliquin Police were among those sent to Moama late Saturday evening after reports a visitor had gone missing in the Perricoota Forest.
The 26 year-old Victorian man reportedly left camp Saturday morning in a boat, and could not be contacted by his friends when he did not return for lunch.
When he still had not returned to camp by 9pm, emergency services were called.
Police said the man ran out of fuel, and exited the water.
He pulled his boat up on to the banks and started back to camp.
But it appears the man became disorientated and slept in reeds overnight for cover.
On Sunday morning he spotted a camp on the Victorian side of the river, and flagged down help.
He was retrieved by boat, and then driven to Cohuna Police Station, arriving about 11am.
Searching for the man were members of the State Emergency Service, NSW and Victoria Police, the Victoria Police Airwing and Marine Rescue.
