The four heifers, two studs and two commercials, were carefully selected for their exceptional genetics and potential to excel in breeding and commercial production.
The heifers represent a significant investment in Seymour College’s commitment to experiential learning and hands-on agricultural education.
Principal Debbie Oliver said staff were delighted to welcome the four beautiful Simmental heifers to Seymour College.
“Their arrival heralds an exciting new chapter for our agriculture program,” she said.
“We look forward to providing our students with valuable learning experiences as they care for and showcase these magnificent animals.”
Seymour College’s agriculture program aims to provide students with practical experience and real-world skills in animal husbandry and livestock management.
By introducing students to animal care and breeding complexities, Seymour College empowers the next generation of agricultural leaders to make informed decisions and drive positive change in the industry.
The school also announced plans to showcase the new additions at the Melbourne Royal Show in September.
The event will allow the students to gain first-hand experience preparing and presenting cattle for exhibition, networking with industry professionals and engaging with the broader agricultural community.
