Seymour College wins Community Award at Seymour Show

State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland presented the award at the Seymour show.

“Seymour is a town with a proud defence history, and it is great to recognise the passing of this knowledge on to the next generation,” she said.

The horse is part of a three-year project by the school following last year’s ‘The Man’, which was made with 500 red poppies.

Seymour College established the project to help integrate students from Defence Force families into the community.

Seymour College Defence School mentor Kelly Quigg said it could be hard to integrate into a new community.

“We wanted to make this year’s project more community-based and to get the students more involved,“ she said.

Ms Cleeland said the achievement was a testament to staff, students and the community’s hard work.
