The $388,841 contract was awarded to Tactile Australia Pty Ltd and One Stop Civil for the construction of the Silkwater Plains shared path, near Ross St, Tatura.
The path aims to provide safer pedestrian access to the Silkwater Plains estate, a subdivision being developed by the Sphere Group on the southern edge of Tatura.
The estate features blocks of land ranging from 550 to 2000 square metres.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said there would also be a contribution from the developer for the shared path network.
“They've undertaken the development ... the requirement of that is to make a contribution to a shared path to connect residents,” he said.
The contract was awarded after being moved by Cr Kieron Eddy, and seconded by Cr Geoff Akers at council's December meeting.
Works are expected to be completed in February 2026.
