Deniliquin Show Society president Ayla Nganeko-Begg said excitement was building.
“The main thing at the moment is getting people to take a chance and enter in the show,’’ she said.
“This isn't just the pavilion, but also the outside arenas.
“We have events throughout the day that can be entered, from the dog jump to carp throwing.’’
The show, to be held on March 7, is celebrating a major milestone this year, which Ms Nganeko-Begg said presented a great chance for all community members to take part in history.
“We are at 145 years of the Deniliquin Agricultural and Pastoral Show, and I would love for that history to capture the names of as many members of our community as it can,” she said.
“We have also pushed this year to include as many free activities for families to accompany our famous sideshow alley.’’
The show will include the classic show events in the morning such as Merino sheep and meat and dual, horse ring events, beef and dairy cattle, tiny tots and junior show girl and boy, wool classes, camel rides, petting zoo and face painting, shearing and wool handlers and a giant pumpkin weigh-in.
Equestrian events and pavilion arts and crafts run throughout the day before the dog show and jump and the carp throwing.
There will also be plenty of action on the Saturday night, with the demolition derby before a fireworks show.
Online entries for the pavilion start closing on Wednesday, March 4, with most closing on Thursday, March 5, as set out for each section on the show website.
