Speeding car clocked at 143 km/h in Benalla

An intercept revealed the male driver held a Northern Territory learner’s permit, was unaccompanied and the car’s registration had expired.

The vehicle was immediately impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1280.

A police spokesperson said this served as a strong reminder.

“Learner drivers must be accompanied, and speeding is never worth the risk,” the spokesperson said

“Police will continue to patrol around the clock to keep our community safe, no matter the hour or the weather.”
