Lockington Consolidated School students held their annual fun run school fundraiser on Friday, May 3.
The annual event allows students to raise money for the school’s sports department through sponsorships.
The students who perform best on the day are selected for the next stage of cross country.
Fast run: Mali Hodgens enjoyed the chance to stretch her legs.
Deanne McNair, who helped organise the day, said it was a great way to cap off the school week.
“It was an awesome day, and the sun was shining, so there were no complaints at all,” she said.
Friends: Schoolmates Ryder Potier and Jude Dobson ran together during parts of the run.
“It was just perfect conditions for the day.”
Students from all year levels take part, which allows the school’s buddy system to be used.
Fun run: Year 6 student Charlotte Frith spent time with her little buddy and Prep student Heidi Walker.
“We have a really good Prep buddy system out here,” she said.
“So certainly it’s always really cute to see the preps out there running, and the buddies get a kick out of that too.”
Sporty: Zali Serpell and Marley Carnegie took part in the fundraising day.
