As the days get warmer, summer is the perfect opportunity for families to join Benalla Rural City Council’s Supported Playgroup — enjoying outdoor play, learning and community connection.
Supported Playgroup is a welcoming and inclusive environment where parents, caregivers and children come together to play, learn and connect with their local community.
Facilitated by experienced early childhood professionals, Supported Playgroup provides safe and inclusive spaces to help support children’s early learning and development through play.
Supported Playgroup is free to attend and runs weekly during school terms at:
- Waminda Community House, 19 Ballintine St, Benalla, Tuesdays 10am to noon.
- Benalla Girl Guides Hall, 12 Lowry Pl, Benalla, Thursdays 10am to noon.
It is open to eligible families with children aged from newborn to five years.
Joining Supported Playgroup offers families the opportunity to:
- Build friendships and community connections.
- Support children’s social, emotional and cognitive development.
- Gain ideas for fun and educational play at home.
- Access information and referrals to local family services.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said Supported Playgroup was a wonderful way for families to come together, share experiences and support their children’s development through play.
