Fire at Murray League finals

Further investigation determined the fire started behind the wall and spread up into the roof.

At 5pm, the grandstand was evacuated while the seniors final was ongoing, and as of 6.20pm, neither side had been allowed back into the locker rooms following the game, instead congregating on the field.

A suspected fire in the Moama Recreation Reserve social rooms has seen the public directed away from the building.

NSW Fire and Rescue are on the scene attempting to locate the source of the fire, which appears to be in the roof and electrical in nature.

Riv journalists, who were in the clubrooms observing the on field action, reported smelling smoke as they were asked to exit the building.

Fire department personnel have deployed ladders to access the roof.

NSW police are also on the scene.
