The event marked 10 years since he started Movember fundraising as a way to turn the loss of his best friend into something positive.
In that time, he has raised more than $30,000 for the annual mental health campaign, this year alone raising $6632.
Tyler’s T-Bro fundraisers have become a part of Benalla’s fabric, with supporters looking forward to playing their part each November.
T-Bro’s Movember started in 2015 with a simple sausage sizzle, which raised $200.
That led to another, and another.
These fundraisers were popular in the Rose City for five years, until COVID hit.
With sausage sizzles no longer an option, Tyler looked for a new way to support Movember.
“It evolved into five years of selling raffle tickets,” he said.
That was made possible due to the support of many small businesses in Benalla and Shepparton, which he now calls home.
After advice from friends, he also started selling T-Bro merchandise and saw the money coming in continue to increase.
“Ten years seems like it's gone in an eye blink,” Tyler said.
With the T-Bro campaign now wrapped up, Tyler said he would still support the cause.
“It’s fair to say my girlfriend, Tegan, and mum are going to be very happy that I don't have to go as hard,” he said.
“But I'll still grow the mo.
“I’ve got a few mates who do Movember, and a few I’ve inspired to do it.
“They come to me with their own struggles, and might say, ‘Hey, I've lost my brother to suicide or my best mate, like I did’.”
Tyler said he was always happy to give advice.
“Movember is basically just a whole big conversation starter,” he said.
“And it’s important to have those conversations.”
Tyler thanked all his supporters, and the businesses that have donated raffle prizes over the years.
“Thank you,” he said.
“Your support has just been unreal.”
