The event will bring together business leaders with a local and national perspective for the Goulburn Valley.
Speakers include Dr Mark Morley from Provincial Foods in Lemnos, Shona Wallace from SPC, Paul Stagg from Global Vic, Stephen Schneider from Stephens Jewellers, and Tina Parfitt from the Port of Melbourne.
Committee for Greater Shepparton CEO Lindy Nieuwenhuizen said Greater Shepparton was both an exporter and an importer. Manufacturing (which includes food production) notched up $1.2 billion in 2023-24 and agriculture accounted for $500 million in exports and continues to grow.
“We are very globally connected,” Ms Nieuwenhuizen said.
The idea for a global-focussed event came about during recent talk generated by US president Donald Trump, the threats posed by tariffs and the relationship between China and the US.
“The idea was about trying to make sense of this chaos and what we need to factor in to our future.”
