There are no indications that anyone in Benalla Rural City has, thus far, contracted COVID-19 and the business owner confirmed that measures had been taken to ensure staff and customers remained safe.
The owner of the business, White Line Tyres, posted a statement to Facebook.
“Last week a supplier from Melbourne was at the shop who has since tested positive for Covid19,” the statement read.

“Due to the length of time he was on site I have been classified as a close contact.
“I have since had a test done, which returned a negative result, but due to DHHS guidelines I still have to quarantine for 14 days.
“Unfortunately the shop will be closed for the duration, so if you can hold out until after the 15th for any tyre needs that would be great.”
The person in question had visited the Oddfellows cafe in Kilmore before heading to Benalla - but was unaware they were positive at that time.
The cafe owner, Kim Short, posted to its Facebook page that they would be forced to close until October 19.

“To say I'm upset this has happened when it shouldn't of is an understatement,” Ms Short wrote.”
The person had been allowed to leave the CBD to provide care to someone in Kilmore and had broken restrictions by dining in - when they were only permitted to use take-away services.
It is unclear at this stage if the person had legitimate reason to visit Benalla.
The most recent DHHS figures show there are still no active cases in Benalla and if people continue to socially distance, wear a mask, and observe all restrictions there is no reason to assume that will change.
