Stage one of the local school’s master plan is set to deliver new, purpose-built facilities, including a new STEM and arts centre.
State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland made the funding announcement on Monday, October 26, alongside Shadow Education Minister Brad Rowswell.
Ms Cleeland said Broadford Secondary College students deserved modern, permanent classrooms that supported their learning.
“Broadford is growing, the school is growing, and students deserve facilities that grow with them,” she said.
“Basic portable classrooms cannot provide the specialised learning environments students need for subjects like science and art.”
Ms Cleeland said the $16 million commitment would provide a clear pathway towards delivering the facilities Broadford Secondary College needed for the future.
“This is about giving local students access to the facilities and opportunities they deserve, without having to miss out because they live in a growing regional community,” she said.
Mr Rowswell said the Victorian Coalition would back regional Victoria with the investment communities needed to grow and thrive.
“Broadford Secondary College has waited long enough,” he said.
“It is time to stop making do with temporary solutions and deliver the permanent facilities students deserve.”
