Performances will be held at Wangaratta’s Uniting Church on Saturday, October 4 and Benalla’s Uniting Church on Sunday, October 5 at 3pm, under the leadership of musical director Matthew Schultz.
From humble beginnings as a music class at The Centre in Wangaratta in 1985, the choir blossomed into the beloved Wangaratta Choristers, weaving itself into the fabric of the local community.
A spokesperson said to reflect a wider regional membership, the name was changed to Vocal Dimension in 2015, and it continued to present three concert series a year around north-east Victoria.
“For our 40th anniversary events, members have chosen personal favourites from concerts under our seven successive music directors,” the spokesperson said.
“These include classic and modern works by Fauré, Vaughan Williams, Gershwin, Jenkins and others.
“We hope you will join us for this musical trip down memory lane.”
Admission is $20, via cash or EFTPOS at the door, with under-18s free, and includes a complimentary afternoon tea immediately after each concert.
