The festival provides opportunities for older residents to try new activities, meet others, and celebrate the contributions seniors make to our community.
Whether you love music, craft, technology, history, or being active, there’s something to enjoy.
Benalls Mayor Bernie Hearn said she encouraged all seniors to explore the program and get involved.
“The Victorian Seniors Festival is such a special time for our community.
“Week two keeps the momentum going with a wonderful mix of activities – from art trails to dancing, craft, concerts, and more.
“We want to see as many people as possible out and about, meeting others, trying something new, and enjoying all that’s on offer.”
Highlights for week two include:
- Super Seniors Video Game Play – test your gaming skills and have a laugh at the Benalla Library.
- Silo and Street Art Bus Trip – enjoy a scenic day exploring silo art, street art, and exhibitions.
- Old Time Dancing at Lima South – step back in time and learn a range of traditional dances.
- Morning Mahjong and Evening Sequence Dancing – perfect for those who love games and social activities.
- Tech Savvy Seniors and LiveUp Program – gain confidence with technology and explore ways to stay active and independent.
- Crafternoon at the Benalla Library – relax, connect, and get creative with craft activities.
- U3A Wine Appreciation – travel to a local winery for a social and educational day out.
- Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe Tribute Show and Cultural Spectacular Concert – enjoy a dazzling performance celebrating two of the most iconic stars of the 20th century.
“This festival really is a celebration of life and community,” Cr Hearn said.
“I encourage everyone to join in – there’s something for every interest and ability.”
