Man arrested after Shepparton North man’s death

Fugitive Squad detectives have arrested a man after the death of a Shepparton North man in the Melbourne suburb of Glenroy last month.

A 42-year-old Glenroy man was taken into custody at a hotel on King St in the Melbourne central business district about 12.30pm on Wednesday, June 4 .

He will now be interviewed by detectives from the Homicide Squad.

His arrest follows the discovery a man’s body in a Bindi St property around 3pm on Sunday, May 25.

The 67-year-old Shepparton North man had been fatally assaulted.

Police said it was understood an altercation took place at the address earlier that morning and the parties involved were known to each other.

Detectives from the Homicide Squad and Fugitive Squad have conducted a significant search over the past 10 days in an attempt to locate the man.
