After scoring his second World Cup hat-trick in Saturday's 66-6 win over Cook Islands, the former St George Illawarra junior said "it is not set in stone" that he would leave the Dolphins in 2028.
Australia fullback Reece Walsh, who was standing near Bostock for the interview, joked that his Kangaroos teammate was "going to get a lot of cash" for his next deal.
Bostock, a free agent on November 1, was asked whether that cash would be at the Dolphins after the club tabled him a contract extension.
"I'm not too sure. It probably won't be half of what Reece gets," Bostock quipped.
He was then asked about reports linking him to a return south to either the Dragons or Cronulla.
"There have been so many stories all week, but it is definitely not 100 per cent set in stone coming to Sydney," he said.
"So I am not sure where that has come from. I have spoken to the Dolphins a couple of weeks ago and said I did want to see my options and what I could do.
"It is definitely not set in stone that I am leaving the Dolphins. It is just a matter of going through the processes."
Bostock said that was hard to do while in Kangaroos camp.
"The task at hand is winning the World Cup," he said.
"Once I can sort out time with my manager during the week ... we will start figuring out what we are going to do."
Bostock said it has been a running joke in Kangaroos camp about November 1, with so many players free agents.
"I'd say (November 1) will start the mayhem and we will see what happens," he grinned.
Walsh understood why clubs would be queueing up for Bostock.
"What he is, 23? He's hard-working, can play many positions and is growing into his body. It is pretty scary to see," Walsh said
"He is an awesome talent. He can flick the switch and get the hard work (done) at training and is a character off the field at getting the boys galvanised and having a laugh."
Bostock came through the Dragons system as a centre, but is shining as winger for Australia, where he has scored his six World Cup tries.
He was a winger at the start of his Dolphins career after former coach Wayne Bennett debuted him there.
"It still feels natural to me and I can thank Wayne for putting me on the wing when I came to the Dolphins," Bostock said.
"He chucked me on the wing when I didn't want to be there, but I am really enjoying it now.
"When Wayne Bennett is telling you to do something there is always a plan behind it. I'd only played wing once or twice before that."
Bostock's season has remained on an upward trajectory after he started it in ACL rehab
"It has been a pretty surreal year to get to the first finals game with the Dolphins, first game of Origin (for NSW) and then coming in for my Test debut for Australia," he said.
"I've got to thank my rehab man (Anthony Cutrupi) at the Dolphins. He's a good man and had me and Plathy (Max Plath) doing our ACL rehab together. There were probably some dark days, but we had each other and 'Trups'."
