Saints playing coach Grace Warnock said the latest wins had proved a real game changer for the team in recent weeks.
‘‘It’s been a good stepping stone in building that confidence and momentum, which we didn’t have earlier in the season,’’ Warnock said.
‘‘We’re looking forward to our next game to give it another good hit out.’’
Using the same set-up that saw them record their drought-breaking win against Kyabram last round, the Saints confidently went about their business to lead Tatura for the majority of the 45-34 goal game.
‘‘We are quite settled (in positions) — it’s definitely working at the moment so we won’t change too much,’’ Warnock said.
‘‘But we are lucky we are versatile and can change if needed.
‘‘We’re just working out what combinations work and what doesn’t at the moment.’’
Saints shooter Bridget Hill, along with centre Grace Amarant and Warnock herself in goal defence, were all named in the side’s best in the win.
‘‘Bridget’s been pivotal to the success we’re having at the moment,’’ Warnock said.
‘‘She’s had a change of position (from defence), so since then it’s been a different look side, and people haven’t expected it.’’
The victory sees the Saints remain in 10th place on the ladder, but they are now a win away from moving just outside the top six.
They will face a tougher opponent than in recent weeks when they travel to play sixth-placed Mooroopna on Saturday before they face top of the table Shepp United, but winnable games against teams like Euroa follow.
And despite the start to the season, finals is still very much on the mind of the Saints if they can pick up an extra win or two in the coming weeks.
‘‘It’s definitely the goal, you have to have that determination to not get bored,’’ Warnock said.
‘‘But we’re also not putting too much pressure on whether that happens. Obviously it would be nice though.’’
●In the Saints earlier matches, B-grade dominated Tatura by 21 goals to make it two wins in a row, while B-reserve ultimately fell to a disappointing two goal defeat.
The Under-17s also fell surprising short in their 36-42 match up against Tatura, while the Under 15s came up against a very strong junior Tatura side, and were defeated 18-46.
