Saints season shot down by Murray Bombers

Benalla Saints women’s season came to a bitter end on Sunday, with the young team suffering a 68-point loss to ladder leader Echuca at Benalla Showgrounds.

Benalla couldn’t stop the run of a well-oiled Murray Bombers outfit, with the visitors kicking 11 goals across the four quarters.

Chloe Hill – in her first and only match this season - got Benalla on the board in the third quarter, but it later proved to be the Saints' only score.

Saints skipper Kylie Relf again led from the front, while Aneiki Pierce, Nicole Donald and Phoebe Wilson all worked hard.

After a 14-round season comes to an end, Benalla finishes in seventh with a record of 3-10.

Shepparton, Echuca, Nathalia and Mooroopna finished top four and will play the first set of finals this Sunday at Nathalia.
