But as competitive as ever, the Benalla rider only has eyes for gold and said he would go back to the drawing board in a bid to defend his title in Aspen next January.
“I was pretty confident heading in to Norway,” Adelberg said.
“I had a no hand front flip, which I land with no hands.
“Unfortunately, on the first run, I landed too long, and the impact was too hard. I couldn’t land with no hands."
And it seems this was the thing that got into his head ahead of his second run, with Adelberg somewhat overcompensating for his first run.
“I was too focused on the landing and messed up the trick in the air. I under-rotated,” he said.
Though disappointed with his execution, Adelberg said his two runs in Norway gave him plenty to think about moving forward.
“I need to focus on the trick,” he said.
“When I think about the landing, I’m two steps ahead of myself.
“I need to focus on executing the trick in the air.
“There is a lot going on, and you make mistakes when you’re thinking too much about (the landing).”
Though Adelberg is on tour with the Crusty Demons, he’s still got his sights firmly set on his next competitive event; defending both his 2017 and 2018 Aspen X Game Gold medals for Best Trick.
And this time, Adelberg is set to pull out a new trick in a bid to win a third consecutive first place finish, which, like everything Adelberg likes to do, will be one that no-one has performed before.
“I’ll go back to the drawing board, I have a few things written down,” he said.
“I’ll get out the foam pit and see what is possible.
“It will probably be a front flip variation, hopefully that will be big enough to secure the gold.”
