Violet Town bushfire fundraiser set to help clubs in need

In an effort to support sporting clubs affected the recent bushfire crisis, Violet Town Football Netball Club has announced it will hold a bushfire fundraiser, with all profits going to the Upper Murray Football Netbell League.

A club spokesperson said, “we as part of the Kyabram District Football Netball League understand how difficult it is to run clubs financially even when things are pretty rosy, so we can only imagine what the future holds for these clubs.”

AFL stars visit Benalla school

The fundraiser will be held on Friday, February 28, at the Violet Town Recreation Reserve, and coincides with the AFL State of Origin clash, which will be shown on the big screen.

There will also be live music at the ground, while the bar will be running and a barbecue (gold coin) will be fired up.

The night kicks off from 5.30 pm with the start of the AFL Women’s match.
