With a crowded Benalla Golf Club and North East District calendar, the Challenge Bowl, which is sponsored by the Benalla Ensign, will return in 2021.
In light of the disruption COVID-19 has presented with sports around Australia, Benalla Ladies’ golf calendar looks very different throughout the second half of the year.
Golf returns in Benalla as restrictions ease
The Ladies Club Championships have been rescheduled for August, while the Foursomes Championships will run in October.
A club spokesperson said players were missing the after-golf camaraderie, socialising and celebrating on course achievers for the day, but it is essentially “come, play and go home” at the moment.
Changes post golf's return have included signing in to use practice facilities, using blue foam in the cups, putting with the flagstick in, no rakes in bunkers, and no exchanging of scorecards.
The club thanked The Ensign for their generous sponsorship, which will now be put towards the 2021 Maie O’Shea Challenge Bowl.
