In the local club's first event since COVID-19 restrictions eased, riders from as far and wide as Mansfield, Wangaratta, Euroa, and Shepparton descended on Benalla for two-days of showjumping competition.

Welcoming 166 entries in both Pony Club grades, as well as in open grade, BPC vice-president Shane Watson said it was great to get riders back competing again after a long absence.
“To look around at all the competitors and they're all enjoying themselves, it's really the good part about it is getting everyone back together,” Watson said.
Using the covered and outside arena for competition, Watson said the development of the grounds, as part of the "raise the roof" project, was shaping up nicely ahead of next year's Pony Club Australia National Championships to be held at the grounds.
“It's nice to be expanding to get the extra covered area, it's very weather friendly,” he said.
“(Outside) on the sand in the heat, it beats back at you fairly hard.”
