Playing in Mansfield, Benalla struggled to contain Delatite's top order, who raced to 1-104 before Bushrangers could really pounce.
Matthew Knight (3-27) and Conor Brodie (2-19), Simon Briggs (1-37 and three catches) made inroads, and along with a crucial runout by Charlie Bull, the Bushies reined in Delatite's dominance to 7-178 by the end of 40 overs.
Heading to the crease, the Bushrangers had a big task ahead of them but struggled to find the gaps in Delatite's attack, finishing 88 runs short on 6-90.
Brendan Hernan was Benalla's best batsman with 37 runs.

Over at Benalla Gardens, A-reserve had no answers for Rovers United Bruck batsman Vance Curran.
Curran starred with the bat, finishing with a 75-run knock as the Rovers set the standard at 2-175.
The visiting attack, led by Simon Godfrey (4-23), then dismantled Benalla's line-up for 108, with Shannon Parker (37) and Christian De Fazio (25) the home side's best.
A solid partnership between Benalla's Zach Parker and James Arendt was a bright spot in B-grade's three-wicket loss to Rovers United Bruck.
Both Parker and Arendt raised the bat, finishing with 50 and 57 runs respectively before Benalla was dismissed for 138.
But the efforts failed to match that of the Rovers’ earlier dominance with the bat — the home side reaching 7-226.
Benalla's Tom Rigby and Harish Mallam were solid with two wickets each, while six catches were taken in the field.

Benalla's Over 60s clash with Canterbury went down to the wire on Sunday, with Benalla pulling off a nail-biting nine-run win.
The Bushrangers scored well in an even contribution with the bat; led by Steve Siggers (32) and Allan Porker (30), nine players scored in the double digits.
Defending a score of 6-207, Benalla got the job done with two balls remaining, dismissing Canterbury for 198.
Ian Dinsdale and Peter Burns finished with two wickets each.
● Benalla's under-16s and under-14s resumed their seasons on Saturday following the Christmas break, playing one-day games on home soil.
The under-14s won their first game of the season, starting strong in attack to dismiss an undermanned Greta team for 50 runs in 13 overs.
Cooper Binion cleanly bowled both openers, while Monty Macfarlane and Ryder Levy each scored two wickets.
Taking to the field, the Bushrangers reached 78 by the end of the innings, losing just one wicket.
Jonty Priest (14) and Mitch Cooney (12) reached double figures for Benalla.

In the under-16s, Ovens Valley United handed Benalla a four-wicket loss to ring in the new year.
United's Cooper and Tyler Thomason (30) and (32) combined at the crease, as the visitors reached 6-109.
Max Cullen and Cooper Woods were good in attack for Benalla, picking up two wickets each, while skipper Jack Fullager stuck two catches.
But Benalla didn't have the runs to in the bank to secure victory, finishing on 6-70.
George Lithgow (17) topped the Bushrangers’ scorers.
● This weekend will see A-grade and A-reserve begin their two-day fixtures.
A-grade travels to Baarmutha Park to face Beechworth Wanderers, while A-reserve welcomes the same club to the Gardens.
In B-grade, Benalla trek up the highway to play City Colts at HP Barr Reserve in Wangaratta, with the under-16s playing at the same ground earlier in the morning.
The under-14s head to Rutherglen's Barkly Park, while the Over-60s will set off to Burnley Oval on Sunday to battle Richmond Union.
