Round 4, GVHA season showed fantastic teamwork from all players, with the juniors having a successful weekend.

JUNIORS:
Under-12 Benalla
Under-12s consolidated this week, giving the Strikers goalie a real work out with improved teamwork and passing.
Jack Hurley made a great tackle, passing forward to Angus Woodward for a fast goal.
Callum Thompson and Jacinta Woodward played well through the centre and out to the speedy Liam Carroll on the wing.
Jack Chittick and Erin Jenkins provided excellent support on the posts.
Full-back Lily Stewart stopped most of the Strikers runs at goal and first time goalie Hadassah Adams made some fantastic saves right on the line.
Zac Fennell received a great pass just inside the circle and pushed through for a second goal securing a 2:1 win for Benalla.

Under-14 SYC/Benalla
Strong team work saw Zac Fennell contribute to a number of goals as left wing in SYC’s 14-nil win against Echuca-Moama.
Amber Armstrong made some critical turnovers as a right half, keeping the ball in SYC’s front line and earning her one umpire best and fairest vote.

Under-17 Mooroopna/Benalla
Charlie Grimwade showed his strength as a full-back, halting GVGS’s fast attack to keep Mooroopna/Benalla in front for a 3:nil win.
Sarah Farley played as a fast half back, putting plenty of pressure on GVGS’s forwards, securing the ball and feeding it through to the front line earning her one umpire best and fairest vote.

B-Women:
Benalla took to the field at the weekend knowing that it was going to be a challenging match against Echuca Moama.
Benalla’s backline saw much of the play, with goalie Prue White completing some spectacular full-body saves and clearances.
Benalla’s defenders put plenty of pressure on the opposition's forward line with Vanessa Bevan, Bree Harris, Bec Littler and Lee Manning clearing the circle and feeding the ball to Benalla’s forwards.
The juniors held the team up with Amber Armstrong and Jacinta Woodward fighting hard through the midfield as inners.
Lucia De Bona showed her increasing skill and confidence making a magnificent solo run down the field and into the circle, but Echuca was too strong, taking the win 8:nil.

Next weekend is the Hockey Victoria Junior Country Championships down in Melbourne.
Benalla is well represented with Zac Fennell and Angus Woodward competing with the Goulburn Valley (GV) under-13 boys in Essendon.
Amber Armstrong and Jacinta Woodward are playing in Greensborough with the GV under-15 girls.
