Murchison-Toolamba 43 drew Violet Town 43
It was a very close game for Towners in their last game of the year.
Towners would get ahead at the start of each quarter but then allow Murchison-Toolamba back into the game in the final minutes of each quarter. Defence was working overtime with Mel Humphries and Emma Warnock turning over plenty of ball and allowing Towners a chance to get ahead again, but they just couldn’t get there.
Luckily, they scored their final goal that tied the game with 10 seconds left before the final siren, allowing them to finish without a loss.
Awards went to Mel Humphries and Jacqui Bast.

Towners’ last game for the year was close for the first half, but then they found their form, produced the goods, and came out comfortable victors. Finishing one place out of the finals is no doubt a bitter pill to swallow, but two places up from last year shows their improvement. Next year it will be finals!
Awards went to Mel Gibson and Hannah Sharp.

With this game being a prelude to next week's final, we were expecting a hard-fought match, and it did not disappoint. Mother nature was at its best, providing sunshine and warmth, cloud cover and cold, and even hail.
Towners came out the victors by one goal, so the finals clash should be a cracker. Well done Towners on maintaining your composure in the last quarter. It was a great team effort.
Awards went to Courtney Pilcher and Ash Bertoli.

Violet Town were keen to have a great last game for the season and started well with some fantastic defensive pressure, coming up with many rebounds and forcing Murchison-Toolamba to make many errors in attack. Unfortunately, Violet Town couldn’t get it down the court to the shooters, making many errors in attack.
This continued throughout the second and third quarters, the difference being that Murchison-Toolamba were able to get the ball to their shooters more, who shot well.
Violet Town mixed it up in the final quarter, which resulted in some great passages of play down the court. Everyone finished the game off well but unfortunately, Violet Town couldn’t get the win.
Awards went to Lauren Manley, Maria Michalowski, and Kayla Rufford-Sharpe.

Violet Town got off to a scrappy start, making errors in attack. It took most of the first quarter for Violet Town to settle and create some intercepts in defence and move the ball well down the court.
In the second quarter, Violet Town was able to continue working itself into the game, having more passages of play that were making it down the court to the shooters who started to get their eye in and were shooting beautifully.
Violet Town lifted its defensive pressure in the second half, which resulted in more opportunities to score, working hard in both defence and attack to push on and finish the game well, gaining some fantastic momentum going into the finals.
Awards went to Isabella Jones, Alexis Kloot, and Ash Antonis.

What a fantastic way to wrap up the netball season with one last game. The team went out there and had an absolute blast, full of energy, laughter, and great sportsmanship. Everyone had a chance to play in different positions, which made the game even more exciting and showcased just how versatile and supportive this group has become.
It’s been such a rewarding season for the coaches, watching the team grow and develop both individually and as a unit. The improvement, teamwork, and determination from the start of the season to now has been incredible to witness.
