The Owls, John Bajada and Wesley Shea faced off against the Galahs, Sienna Bajada and Flynn Mosley. John took out the latest match in the battle of the Bajadas, winning 12-10 in the final of five tight sets. Wesley added to the Owls score by beating Flynn in an exciting four set match.
The Owls secured victory, and the A Grade Premiership with a four sets victory in the doubles.
B-grade
The Joeys, Graeme Sharp and Daniel Wright, had a 3-2 victory over the Rosellas, Ray Grant and Andy Donaldson. Ray beat Graeme in straight sets. Daniel evened the score with a straight sets win over Andy.
The Joeys won the all important doubles in four sets. Ray had a four sets win over Daniel, leaving Graeme to secure victory for the Joeys with a three sets win over Andy.
C-grade
The Crows, Christine Nicholas and Josh Kirley, had a 3-0 win over the Falcons, Andrea Cathcart and Colin McFarlane to secure the C grade premiership. Christine beat Andrea in straight sets. Josh won against Colin, also in straight sets. The Crows then won the doubles in a four sets match.

A 4BBB stableford was played on Thursday, May 29, with 26 players.
Anne Brown and Wendy Walker won the event with 43 points from runners-up Christine Perus and Hazel Briggs on 42 points.

On Saturday, May 31, a stableford was played with 23 players.
Division 1 winner was Nell Cavedon with 30 points on a countback from Sally Sykes 30, and Division 2 was won by June Shennan with 32 points on a countback from Helen Hyland 32.

Benalla Bowls Club
Wednesday jackpot triples saw the return of our bowling friends from Euroa with three teams, while Mansfield also returned with two teams.
The outcome was 66 players enjoying the beautiful sunshine playing two games of 12 ends. The winning team from Mansfield consisted of S.Lewis, M.Hoban and M. Bettany and another visiting team were runners up in Euroa, with Greg Blatchford, Ken Drysdale and Mark Jervies. Other visitors were from Swanpool, Violet Town and St.James.
Friday jackpot pairs saw 14 teams with visitors from Swanpool, Shepparton Park, Tungamah, Moira and Rosebud Country Club. The winning pair was Kerrie Leask and Sue Middleton whilst Ted Armstrong and Jack Lia were the runners up.
Saturday social attracted 20 bowlers playing two games of 10 ends 2/4/2 pairs. The winning pair were John Nicholson and Anthony Farnham with Ian Richards and Max Tilbury the runners up.
June 1 in Wangaratta saw the annual meeting of O&M with the election of office bearers for 2025/26 season. Benalla Bowls Club was well represented with David Lindsay on the board of O&M, Graeme Pitts earning another term on the pennant committee and Graeme Greene elected to the match committee.
The vote was undertaken on the makeup of the A section on the number of rinks and was similar to last year, with majority going for four rinks with A5 remaining at three rinks.
The Kings Crown triples is now full so hopefully we can get fortunate with the weather on the Monday!

Benalla Bridge Club
Some of our very experienced bridge players continued their recent run of successes again last week - well done to George and Win on Monday, Kay and George and Mark and Anne on Wednesday.
In addition, Marjorie and Michele achieved a pair of second placings, Judy and Judy were top of East-West on Monday, and special mentions for Lachie and Tayla, two new players, who finished second in East-West on Monday, and to Ali and Diane for their second in East-West on Wednesday - congratulations to all of you.
Our new bridge scoring program seems to be working well, but if there are any members who still need assistance to access the session results, please let us know so we can make it easy for you.

FRIDAY NIGHT UNDER LIGHTS
Friday night was our first Auskick game on the Benalla Saints ovals under the lights and to say there was a lot of excitement from the kids is an understatement.
These is something about Friday night footy that gets everyone keen to get to get in and have a great night.
We would like to thank Daniel Symes from Symes Electrical for the sponsorship of running our Friday night game this week.
Auskick is run a little differently under lights as we do a five minute warm up and its straight into the game.
The award winners were read out and after our weekly picture we were again off playing.

Swanpool and District Table Tennis
At the Heaney Oval Hall at Swanpool the Goannas Keith Bickerton and Joe Boyd easily outclassed the beginner team of the Emus, Luke and Lilly Blundell, scoring five rubbers to nil.
At the Tatong Hall the Eagles Jim Renkin and Shaun Murphy prevailed over the Tigers Paul and Wesley Shea scoring four rubbers to one. Murphy won both of his singles and, along with Renkin, the doubles. Wesley Shea and Renkin won a singles rubber each.
Two matches were played at the Moorngag Hall and in the first the Wombats Andrew and Mark Marriott won all but one rubber defeating the Turtles David Beer and Mike Larkin. Andrew Marriott won both of his singles and he and son Mark won the doubles. Mark Marriott and Beer won a singles each.
In the other Moorngag match the Swans Chris Seeley and Damian Young won a close three rubbers to two match against the Bombers Colin Exton and his daughter Melissa Mounsey. Exton won both of his singles matches and Seeley and Young won a singles each. The Swans won the hard fought doubles rubber.
