Goorambat: 1.2, 3.4, 4.5, 7.9, (51)
Whorouly: 4.2, 8.7, 13.12, 17.17 (119)
Goorambat came up against the in-form Whorouly on the Lions’ home ground in the elimination final on Sunday, and the boys stuck with Whorouly in the first half thanks to the defence lead by Ben Reaburn.
Both Zac Amarant and Travers Nolan were in everything at ground level, but could not match the intensity and run of Whorouly on the day, with Victor Butler continuing his good form with his run and carry.
Well done boys for making it through to the finals again, and let’s give it another crack next season.

Goorambat 41 def by Bonnie Doon 49
On Sunday, we faced a challenging elimination final against last year’s premiers, the only team in the competition we historically haven’t matched up well against this year.
We approached the game with a mindset focused on enjoying the moment and leaving the court with no regrets, and we achieved exactly that.
At half time, the Bats had restricted Bonnie Doon to just a five-goal lead, showing composure and discipline. Although a slow start to the third quarter saw Goorambat fall behind by 15 goals, the team responded with resilience. Strategic changes allowed the Bats to halt Doons’ momentum and reduce the margin to 10 goals at three-quarter time.
In the final quarter, the girls fought back once again, closing the gap to just eight goals by the final whistle, and the coaches could not be prouder of the way the team fought back with determination and spirit throughout the entire game.

Goorambat 38 def by Tarrawingee 39
Finals season was well and truly underway as Goorambat faced off against Tarrawingee in a thrilling contest. From the first whistle, it was clear the crowd was in for an exciting match. The opening quarter was marked by strong defensive efforts from both sides, resulting in numerous turnovers and a low-scoring start.
Tarrawingee was the first to settle, taking an early four-goal lead. However, Goorambat responded with determination in the second quarter, demonstrating why it deserved its place in finals. The attacking unit found rhythm and flow, making it easier to transition the ball into the circle. By half-time, the Bats had turned the tide and led by five goals.
The second half was anything but straightforward. Tarrawingee came out firing, gradually clawing its way back into the game. Strategic positional changes from Goorambat sparked renewed energy, and the lead shifted several times as both teams battled with intensity and heart.
In the end, it was Tarrawingee that held a narrow advantage at the final whistle, edging out Goorambat by a single goal in what was a fiercely contested match.
Despite the loss, it was a strong team performance, and the Bats can hold their heads high after an impressive season.
