Whorouly won the toss and went with the breeze in the first quarter on Saturday and used it well but they didn’t capitalise in front of goal, missing some early opportunities, allowing Goorambat to stay with them.
The boys started to play some good football in the second quarter with two great goals to Charles Hunter and Ben Reaburn lifting the boys at a critical stage of the game.

Goorambat got the better of Whorouly in a very physical second half of football. With the skipper Ryan Burns and John House playing their roles for the team, the boys came away with a four-goal win.
It was a pleasing win for the group, including a number of new players. But knowing they have areas to improve on should give them confidence as a group.
Going long: Goorambat’s Benjamin Reaburn.

Reserves football
The reserves started well against Whorouly on Saturday, with Todd Haslam winning the ruck contests and intercept marking around the ground. But it was always going to be a tough game with no bench.
Dallas Spencer and Will Hoskins were in everything and both played great games, with plenty of support from Matt Priest and Dylan Brain both setting up forward entries.
Staying strong: Goorambat’s Robert Wilson.

It was a big improvement on the boys’ first game and they never gave up fighting it out for the entire game, which was credit to them.
