BENALLA GOLF CLUB MEN’S RESULTS

Today Wednesday, November 24 is a stableford event as is Saturday, November 27.

RESULTS: November 17

On Wednesday, November 17, 68 players competed in a two-person Ambrose event held as a fundraising event in support of the Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Day.

The winners on the day, with a score of 59 net were Rod and Graham Squires. The runners-up were Alan Moore and Brian Hollins with 59¾ net.

RESULTS: November 13

Last Saturday, November 20, saw 64 players compete in a stableford event, a round of Purdey’s Putter. The best score of the day, 44 points, was had by Brian Hubble to win A-grade from runner-up Geoff Dalton, 42 points. In B-grade the winner was Eric Hoolihan with 39 points from runner-up Ken Dosser, 38 points. In C-grade the winner was Graham Briggs with 39 points from runner-up Bob Arthur, 38 points.

Brian Hubble won the “Bear Trap” award for the sixth and seventh holes.

Women’s Golf

An enjoyable Pink Day in support of breast cancer research and fundraising was held on Thursday, November 18 with 29 players.

The teams-of-three event (two best scores) was won by Anne Thomas, Chris Ogden and June Shennan with 87 points.

Runners-up were Roma Watkins, Jackie Rubira and Lindy Wrest with 84 points.

Ball competition: S. Noble, M. Felmingham and J. Baker 81, A. Brown, H. Crilly and M. Badrock 81, H. Briggs, G. Gill and R. Foletta 77.

NTP: 3rd H. Crilly, Milner-Watson Pharmacy 8th H. Briggs, Golf Shop 13th B. Dobson, 14th R. Foletta.

We thank all players, both men and women, for your generous fundraising for important cancer research and treatment.

On Saturday a stableford was played with 22 players.

Division one winner was Roma Watkins with 40 points on countback, and division two was won by June Shennan with 38 points.

Balls went to M. Watson 40, C. Garratt 37, C. Warnock 37, J. Rubira 36, H. Briggs 35c/b.

NTP: 3rd, 8th C. Garratt, Ray White 12th H. Briggs, 13th R. Watkins, 14th C. Warnock.

This week a stableford round will be played on both Thursday and Saturday.
