The Benalla Golf Club has teed up several events for the spring and summer season, and the club is ready to hit off.

On the golf course, the club has the biggest days on its calendar coming up.
The 49th Annual Golf Championship starts on Friday, November 10, with the Peter Grubb Memorial Mixed Pinehurst.
On Saturday, November 11, the competition heats up with the men’s and ladies’ 4BBB Stableford events.
The men’s open stroke events are teeing off on Sunday, November 12.

The club will run two events on the day: the Men’s Graded Handicap (for nine and 18 holes) and the Men’s Open Championship (18 holes).
Players in the latter will be aiming to lift the prestigious McKenzie Cup.
The $25 entry fee for the day also includes a barbecue lunch.
On Tuesday, November 14, the ladies will close the championship with the 18-hole Open Scratch and Handicap sections.

An introductory membership for players who have not been a financial playing member in the past two years is $299. The normal price for a full membership is $605.
With daylight saving coming into effect, getting in a round after work or school is on the cards.
After 4pm, players can get in as much golf as they like before the light fades for $15.
The driving range is open daily from dawn until 10.30pm for those looking to practise before hitting the course.
The driving range is also perfect for events such as buck’s and hen’s parties.
The club will run sessions for junior players throughout this school term and term one next year.
The junior development sessions are on Tuesdays from 4pm to 5.30pm and are aimed at children aged six to 13.
For older players looking to perfect their swing, professional Dale Crothers is available for coaching lessons on Tuesdays.
Crothers is a success story of the Benalla Golf Club, having played there as a junior and developed into a pro.
