Benalla played some fantastic hockey against Echuca Green on Saturday, using the whole field and really placing their hits towards their teammates.
Teddy was a standout defender this week, constantly running forwards to halt Echuca well before the goals, and trapping strongly before aiming his rebound hits up the field.
Captain Rachel started the score board off with a sneaky goal, and finished as well with a huge run up the field in front of all the players to hit it into the corner behind the goalie.
Madeleine created great momentum through to the forward line, also running back to help out first-time goalie Abbie, who saved numerous goals running out to meet the ball.
Sophie ran hard through the midfield with a lovely solo goal off another big run in front of the players, one scored after dodging multiple defenders, and a third off a rebound from Rachel.
Phoenix was a solid defender but found herself up in attack and snuck a lovely goal in across a defenders foot.
After an even goal-for-goal game, Benalla dominated the fourth quarter to take the win 6:4.

Under-15 Orange v Strikers Red
Orange fought hard, with both teams wrestling to gain the upper hand and an early goal to each team making it anyone’s game.
Angus worked hard through the midfield and made several forward runs, weaving around defenders to score twice, as well as planting some very solid flat stick tackles to turn the ball over near the back line.
Abbie covered the entire back line, meeting the onslaught of multiple Strikers breaking through the midfield. She was joined by Alida in the second half, who positioned well to protect the goal alongside sister Annie.
Captain Liam started as full back and made some great tackles and rebounds out of the backline before changing to attack in the second half, scoring at the start of the third quarter off a great pass across the circle from Angus.
Amity picked up some nice balls out on the wing, sending them into the circle.
Erin turned on the pressure in the fourth quarter, with multiple turnovers and intense attack on the ball, resulting in a great fourth and final goal for the game.
Annie’s solid goalie skills were lovely to watch, with some great saves when Strikers had outrun Benalla’s defence, limiting their score to just 7 against Benalla’s 4.
