RESULTS: October 19
On Wednesday, October 19, a fine and sunny spring day with the course in excellent condition considering the rainfall during the previous week, 35 players competed in a stableford event.
The best score on the day was Peter Schwarzman with 37 points, to win B-grade from runner-up Kerry Bramich 37 points on a countback. In A-grade the winner was Terry Symes, 37 points, on a countback from the runner-up Larry Piscioneri also 37 points.

Women’s golf
A beautiful day on Thursday, October 20, invited 13 ladies to play a stableford round.
The winner was Sue Oakley with 36 points.

Play was washed out again on Saturday, and this week a stableford will be played on Thursday and Saturday.
Benalla Bridge Club Results
Bridge club members are reminded that our annual meeting and Christmas party will be held on Monday, December 5, — please add your name to the list available at our bridge sessions or contact the club, for catering purposes.
The Bridge Club is now offering supervised play on Wednesday afternoons starting at 1pm in the senior citizens building for people interested in learning how to play bridge, or for those people who would like to have some refresher sessions. If you or any of your friends would like to take part, phone Peter on 0418 587 573 for details.

Benalla Bowls Club
The Benalla Bowls Club AGM was held on Wednesday, October 19.
At that meeting local identity Joy Poole was nominated for Life Membership of the club.
Joy joined the BBC in the early 1990s. In those days ladies were associate members and between them carried out many duties on various committees.
Joy was vice-president from 2000 to 2002, she was then elected president from 2002 to 2004.
In the 2003-2004 season she was ladies’ club champion.
Joy worked on many committees during the years. Prior to vice -president Joy was on the selection committee and the club’s finance committee.
Joy was elected to the Board of Management of the BBC in 2005 and served on the board until 2011.
In season 2013-2014 she was a member of the outdoor bowls committee and chairperson for the midweek pennant selection committee.
It is with great pride and pleasure that Joy Poole be elected as a Life Member of the Benalla Bowls Club.
