The support from the members and visitors was overwhelming.
Patrons got into the spirit of the event by dressing in their favourite pink outfits. Many purchased the pink sashes on offer to support the fundraiser.
The ladies certainly looked great, but it was the real men wearing pink that was most amazing.
Proceeds from the regular Friday night raffle (which has enormous support from members and guests), sales of merchandise, individual donations, support from Brown Brothers Winery and the club’s board — the amount raised was slightly over the target figure of $2000.
The club looks forward to growing this event next year in support for this wonderful organisation to assist with funding McGrath Breast Care nurses across Australia.
Benalla Badminton Club
Last Wednesday we were able to start our 2022-23 summer season.
We were lucky to find another venue which is the P12 stadium at the Faithful St campus to use, while the stadium we usually use is under repair, so thanks for their help and support, it is appreciated.
Last week’s games had Warrenbayne (team one) 266 def Moorngag (team three) 207.
In the other game Lurg (team four) 246 def Winton (team five) 210.
We had nine three-game winners last week — Brett M, John S, Simon G, Georgia, Tarquin, Yanru, Kim, Clare and Tharindu , congratulations and well played to all of you, keep up the good work.
Tonight’s games have Winton (team five) v Warrenbayne (team one) on courts 4-6 and the other game has Upotipotpon (team two) v Lurg (team four) on courts 1-3.
The on call team this week is Moorngag (team three).
If you are unable to play tonight phone Tim on 0417 537 135 and he will help you find someone to fill in for you.
Try to be at the courts by 7pm as we are still getting used to the new venue.
Then we can have a warm up and start games as early as possible. Look forward to seeing you tonight.
