Benalla won Victoria’s H2H Club of the Month for May, giving them the opportunity to be ‘Half-Time Heroes’, and were able to join with their parent association Goulburn Valey Hockey Association for the experience.
The kids met the players, got autographs, ran on for the welcome line-up, and also played mini hockey games at half time for both the women’s and men’s semi-final matches of one versus four.
Hockey One teams represent each of the states, with many of these state players also playing in Australian teams.

The hockey was intense, with the Benalla and GVHA kids clearly being good luck as both of their run-on teams, the Perth Thundersticks women and Tassie Tigers men, won over the favourite to progress to the gold medal matches on Sunday.
Benalla hockey returns in 2026 with the Hockey Roadshow in Primary Schools at the end of February, and Hook In2 Hockey hitting off with a big Come-and-Try Day on Thursday, March 5, from 4:15 to 5:15pm.
