However, the only danger he’d find himself in would be stunning the 2021 X Games judges during the best trick category.
Thanks to his daring no-handed front flip at the California-hosted event, Adelberg clinched gold; his fifth and 13th ever X-Games medal.

“I landed my trick exactly how I wanted, and to know it was the best on the day and to take away gold was an amazing of achievement,” Adelberg said.
“There's only me and two other people in the world that can do a no-handed front flip.
“I've won a best trick competition before with it at the Sydney X-Games.
“But this time I was able to hold my hands off a little bit longer, and do it a bit different, which I was rewarded for.”

His other medal came in the Moto X Freestyle category, where he let rip at the Slayground course netting a bronze medal in the competition's final run.
“I was very disappointed with that one,” he said.
“I'm a freestyle rider and even though I won best trick, this was the one I really wanted to win.

“I believe I could have got gold. So I'll be working hard to get gold in that event at the 2022 games.”
Despite one run scuppering his chances at gold this year it was a wicked display, and he had to get his head ready for the best trick event only hours later.
Stepping up for his first "best trick" run, Adelberg smashed it out of the park with a score of 93.33 - one which wouldn't be bettered for the competition's entirety.

It came two years on from his last podium-topping effort at X Games Minneapolis, and sealed a successful outing in the Golden State.
Rob said it was different performing at an X Games with no crowd, but said having less eyes on him took some of the stress out of competing.
“It is also nice to get the applause when you land a trick, so it will be good to get crowds back,” he said.

“It's been an honour to compete. I'd like to thank my friends and family, especially my dad for helping me train.
“And all the local businesses and everyone back home who has supported me over the years.”
