The Deniliquin Netball Association's representative teams travelled to Wangaratta last weekend to compete in their second tournament of the season.

The under-13s team delivered an outstanding performance, demonstrating their growth by reaching the grand final.

Although they did not clinch the title, the atmosphere among the team and coach Prue Meharry was filled with pride for the hard work and commitment shown by the girls throughout each match.

Defenders Lara Redden and Meg Meharry exhibited remarkable determination, effectively wearing down their opponents, who frequently found it challenging to breach their solid defence.

The mid-court players - Lexi Maher, Rhyla Bunyan, Sophie Bliss, and Zara O’Donnell - worked tirelessly, showcasing their strength in both offensive and defensive roles.

Meanwhile, shooters Killarni Macdonald and Izzy Didcock excelled, delivering their best performance as a pair.

Killarni was awarded the award for best player of the tournament, in recognition of her exceptional attacking drives, strategic positioning, and shooting precision.

Zara received an award for her relentless defensive efforts and significant contributions during transitions.
