Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club’s Flynn Cox competed in the Age Long Course Championships recently.
The 2025/26 Mattioli Victorian Age Long Course Championships were held over the past five days at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Albert Park, drawing 1,380 of the state’s fastest swimmers from across Victoria.

Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club was represented by Flynn Cox who qualified for the championships for the first time, a milestone in his swimming journey.
Flynn qualified in two events, the Boys 12 years 50m Freestyle and 100m Breaststroke, securing his place among Victoria’s leading swimmers in his age group.
Racing on Sunday in the 50m Freestyle, Flynn faced a strong field of 50 competitors.
Flynn recorded a personal best of 30.24 in the Boys 12 years 50m Freestyle event.
He produced a determined swim, finishing 6th in his heat, with just 0.3 seconds separating the six swimmers in a tightly contested race.
Stopping the clock at 30.24 seconds, Flynn recorded a personal best, improving by 0.38 seconds. His performance ranked him 25th overall in Victoria and an impressive 9th among Regional Victorian swimmers.
Flynn’s first appearance at the Victorian Age Championships was a strong showing and reflects his ongoing progress and potential at state level.
